After my hubs dropped ARB off at school this morning, he and LP drove through Starbucks and brought me this YUMMY and HOT Caramel Brulee.....mmmmmmmmm!
Today we took the girls to see the BEST Santa ever (well ... of all the ones we have been to and the one we have takenARB to for the past 6 years) there weren't any tears, but not a lotta love either!
This picture is only a small portion of the damage Black Friday Bud and I did. Her entire car was loaded with our bags! That just tells you what kind of great deals we found and it is SO totally worth getting up before the sun!
Skittles and popcorn for Mommy, Daddy, and ARB...check.
Blankets for snuggling....check.
Movie off of Direct TV Cinema (no trip to Blockbuster-woo-hoo)...check.
We enjoyed this Disney flick and even though Daddy and Ashton saw this on their Earth Day date, they watched it again with me and LP. LP actually sat and watched until her bedtime which was about 30 minutes so the night was quite successful!
Tonight there was a FULL moon...I tried like crazy to get a good, clear picture of it, but it just wasn't in the cards so I decided to post one of my many attempts. The real thing was so pretty and so BIG...wish you could have seen it!
For dinner tonight we wanted something light. So I remembered seeing this recipe on a blog and it looked really yummy. We decided to try it out and it did not disappoint! It was the perfect light dinner...and one you could change to fit your tastes.
By the way, this blog is filled with tons of fun recipes, and craft ideas and just all kinds of good stuff so check it out when you get a sec. {btw...my pictures aren't nearly as good as hers}
This is ARB's new long sleeve spirit shirt...today we added some bling to it....you know the more sparkle something has the better it is in the eyes of my girls!
In case you were wondering what we feed our dwarf frogs {Ruff-Ruff and Juliet} this is what it is....these little pellets...they get 4 pellets twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.
{I know this is a horrible picture, but it serves a purpose and I couldn't help where the clothes landed!}
Landry LOVES to change her clothes....sometimes she likes to wear dress up, but most of the time she likes to wear things out of her drawers. Lately (since we have added new fall/winter jammies to her drawers) her clothing of choice is jammies. She goes through about 3 pairs of jammies a day...I'm not even kidding!
Today she walked in from school and literally, in the doorway took off every stitch of clothing she had on hair stuff and all, left it on the floor went to her room, chose a new pair of panties and new jammies and put them on.
This happens every single day, I am constantly finding her clothes all over the house--I only wish the picture wouldn't have been bad!
Our poor little punkin has had a cough and runny/snotty nose for a couple of weeks now....and after our doctor visit today she will be taking the "pink medicine" for the next ten days to hopefully knock out her sinus infection!
Normally ESPN the magazine is only read by my hubs, but tonight our BG enjoyed it as well! There is an article on Baylor's Brittney Griner so of course Ashton wanted to read it. She thinks it is SO COOL to have someone she has met and seen play in a magazine! The best part of the whole article for her...Brittney enjoys watching Phineas and Ferb just like Ashton! That is pretty cool when you are eight!
We took them to the Veterans Day Parade....we didn't realize until we were there that Ashton had never been to a parade before. They both had a total blast so we will be making more trips to parades in our future for sure!
Our BG performed in a very special Veteran'sDayProgram this morning at FML. She and the other third graders sang 4 patriotic songs. They wore red, white, and blue. They had a slide show with pictures of Veterans belonging to students in her school, which had pictures of both of her grandfathers in it. It was a very meaningful, and emotional performance....Thank You to all of our Veterans!
Today was SILLY SOCK DAY at LP's preschool. She chose these bright colored stars and stripes socks from Target; however, she didn't quite understand the silly sock thing when it came time to put them on. She was very upset that I was putting socks on her feet that DIDN'T match. She threw a fit and finally let me put them on her, and she barely let me take her picture.
Once we got to school, she was excited to see that Miss Karen, Miss Shelly, and Miss Kristy all had silly sock on too.
This little purple feather is something Ashton's counselor has done for two years now. She makes a giant wall display of a turkey with a TON of feathers. These feathers are written for the students from the parents...it is one of the things I love and Ashton is always so proud of this feather.
We couldn't be more proud of our girl and we appreciate her in so many ways and we love her beyond anything she will ever know or understand...we are such lucky parents to have her as OURS!
This was the afternoon snack I shared with a certain two year old today. You see, her Big Sisser had a playdate after school and we usually bring Ashton home let her drop off her stuff then we run her to her friend's house. Well today as I was standing with the mom waiting for the kids, she said she would just take Ashton with her. So....that meant that Landry and I left pick up with only Ashton's backpack and no Ashton.
Poor Landry was devastated...it is so hard being the Little Sisser sometimes, especially when that Lil Sis is only two. So as a distraction technique, I busted out some popcorn and playdoh on the patio. It worked like a charm...but she still missed Ashton. By that time of day LP is tired of me and she only wants her most favorite person in the world.
After swimming lessons this morning, my sidekick and I went to find her some new jammies for the cooler weather. One of the ones we got are for actual winter...but are Landry's faves because they have "slippers" on the feeties. She did not want to take them off once she tried them on...she said they help her hop so they are her "hoppy jammies".In fact, I had a hard time getting her to stand still long enough to get a picture which is why the picture came out blurry...I took 5 and they were all blurry!
These might have to be put up until it is actually cold enough to wear them....I see many battles and fits over these bad boys until then if she gets her hands on them!
This morning Landry and I had the pleasure of helping Reesey P celebrate her THIRD birthday with a super cute Fancy Nancy party. This just means that it isn't that long before we are having our own THIRD bday party for our little one...whoa!
A certain third grader of ours had Pajama Day today at school. She was all kinds of pumped to wear her jammies to school and to wear these super cute and TOTALLY HER zebra jammies!
Today this little munchkin was able to sit in Big Sisser's seat while we waited for her to get out of school. LP was over the moon excited to sit in Ashton's seat and read a book...she looks bitty in that big ole' seat!
{let me apologize for the blurry picture but I didn't realize it was blurry until I got it on my computer}
Since the grandparents were leaving today, basically right after Ashton got home from school, we decided to surprise her and pick her up early from school so she could spend the afternoon with them before they left. We had a nice lunch date at Pei Wei then headed to the mall for a ride on the carousel and some dessert. Even though it was a sopping wet rainy day, we still had great company!
Today my Hubs and his Dad were able to attend Game 5 of the MLB World Series cheering on the Rangers. It was an awesome experience for them and one they will always remember. Neither of them had ever been to a World Series game before so it was a neat first for them to share!
The idea for this separate blog came about last year from my dear friend Jodi who found the idea from this blog. Come to find out, there are many of these out in "blogland". What a great idea!
So this is how it works: I will take a picture everyday for the rest of 2010 and post a single picture on this blog. This will give me the opportunity to showcase our daily happenings while "experimenting" with photography.
