A Surprise for me...

...yepper! Today my super sweet husband bought me this cute graphic tee as a "just because" surprise. I have been saying for months now that I want to get some cute graphic tees so I have been looking everywhere. I had bunco last night and some friends of mine told me where I could get some. Of course I was so excited that I told Bobby all about it. Well...today he had a meeting over by Nordstrom Rack and when he came home he had this shirt for me! It made my day and I love it!

Thanks babe...you are the BEST there is {and not just because you bought me a shirt}!

okay....so....even though Landry has a snotty nose a-gain...she has still been a pretty happy little chick today unless I try and wipe her nose {that is why she has a snotty yucky nose in this picture....so sorry about that...I have wiped it 18 million times today and didn't feel the need to keep pestering her and causing a meltdown until it got too bad..again I apologize that you have to look at it}.

Anyway..back to the point....she has been really into pretend playing and loves to dress up and then go check herself out in the full length mirror...it is pretty funny! She found the glasses we used when Ashton dressed like she was 100 a few months ago. She put them on and went to look at herself...then ran into the office to show Daddy...then ran into the family room to show Ashton. She was having a blast until she broke the chain the glasses were on...which turned into a tantrum of frustration...poor girl!

TGF....Dr. Pepper and Tuesday Dance!

This picture captures one of the things that made my day today....does that tell you how my day went? Oh boy! Today was a day....for sure! Between a my 6 year old before school and the numerous screaming {very loudly with the highest pitch scream imaginable...if you have ever heard her you know what I am talking about...wow} tantrums by my 15 month old...I thought I was going to to lose my mind!

Thank goodness today was Tuesday...which is Dance day...which means QT with my sweet Jodi! She let me vent and let me talk her into getting a DP {and breadsticks for the little chicks} from Cafe Express! She made me feel so much better!

It ended up being a much better day....I am still sane...still have all of my hair...and ready for tomorrow!

Play Dates....with girls!
Today Ashton had one of her friends from school over for a playdate. They had skittles and popcorn for a snack, made two choker necklaces, played~a lot inside and outside, sang a little karaoke, did each other's hair and of course played dress up, they even played with the lil sis for a bit. {She was happy just to be in the same room with them. While they were outside they took turns pushing Landry in her pink car...she was beyond excited about this!}
They are so funny...while at school they made an "agneda" of all the things they wanted to do and I am pretty sure they accomplished everything on the list.

The Wind Can Stop Now...
I feel like we live in the Windy City {even though I have never been there before} and I really don't care for it much! It has been incredibly windy over the last week or so and today was no exception. This picture doesn't do any justice as to how windy it actually is outside!

"Cel-e-bra-tion Time Come On"....

Today was a day to celebrate a momentous occasion for Carly Anne Leonard...she went potty in the potty! So when Jodi called to tell us the super exciting news we jumped on the chance to go and celebrate at Paciugo! We are so proud of Carly and loved seeing her so proud of herself!

Way to Go Carly Anne!

{I must also admit that I didn't take this picture...I left my camera in the car so Jodi just took it for me with her camera! Thanks Jodi!}

This is one of my new faves!

About a month ago I was on the hunt for a cereal that was healthy and yummy. So as I stood in the cereal aisle I stumbled upon the Special K cereals. This one looked good so I bought it. It is THE BEST CEREAL I have ever had! It is a winner in our house and I highly recommend it. It is a low calorie cereal, but tastes delish!

*****

*A few comments came in about what kind of protein shake I drink for my dessert. It is called Amplify {I think Bobby gets it at GNC}. It comes in a powder form and I make it with milk, ice, and peanut butter.

I have been waiting for this package to arrive for over a week.....

Here is why. A week ago Sunday Landry decided she would break not one but TWO glass things in our house...both of which I was standing right next to her. She is stealth like and I had no idea she was there...until I heard the crash of a glass syrup bottle from the pantry and our blender pitcher! Luckily no one was hurt.

So we have been without our blender for that long. We ordered the replacement parts the very next day and they finally arrived TODAY!

You might think....what is the big deal about a blender? Well that blender is my dessert every night before bed. I make a protein shake (that tastes like a milkshake). It is good for me and tricks my brain into thinking I am having a "real" milkshake. I have been in withdrawals without our blender!

But tonight...I am one happy girl! I get my chocolate and peanut butter shake before bed!

This is what a 15 month old looks like who is TOTALLY into Sesame Street!
As you can see from the piles of laundry on my couch, I was folding clothes this morning while Landry watched her one show...Sesame Street. She decided it would be better to watch in the empty laundry basket! I of course had to snap a picture...because that is how my mind works these days! I think I am obsessed with taking pictures...it could be a bit of a problem...

This is my hubby when he goes out to mow the lawn. Poor thing has allergies something awful and the grass irritates him...sooo...he wears this bandana over his face to keep the grass and stuff out.

Poor Landry is completely freaked out by this garb and runs over to me shaking and won't look at him when he puts it on. She grabs on for dear life! He even takes it off to show her that it is still him and she wants no part of it. She also does not like it if she happens to see him out the window while he is working in the yard.

I know this doesn't look like a pretty picture and you are probably thinking "what in the world is this?" well.....let me just say that is was the best grilled chicken recipe EVER!

Bobby and I are always looking for new recipes that are healthy, easy to make, and yummy. After looking through our Biggest Loser Cookbook we found this one: New Orleans Apricot and Mustard Chicken

I am not a fan of apricots so I wasn't too sure... but....it was deee-lish! Both girls even loved it. In fact, Ashton said "This is the BEST grilled chicken I have ever had!" So this recipe is a keeper!

This is a first for us...

Last night Landry didn't sleep very well at all! Poor girl fussed and whined off and on all night and was up at 5:15. I think she is working on that top molar and it was bugging her last night because she was her normal spunky self today {especially since I gave her Motrin and Tylenol to help}.

Anywho....this kid has never just fallen asleep like this before. She is a very regular sleeper and occasionally falls asleep in the car, but other than that only goes to sleep in her bed. Well today after we got home from the gym I decided to check my email real quick before lunch. She was in the office with me but left. I thought she was playing in her room. As I walked out of the office I found her asleep....in the middle of the floor...and completely O-U-T! Keep in mind she had only been out of my sight for just a few minutes!

I let her sleep for a bit then made her lunch before I woke her. She ate lunch and went back down for her normal nap! I think she is a worn out little girl....and so is mommy!

Pizza by Ashton

One of the things I really enjoy doing with Ashton is cooking. She has always loved to cook {it could possibly be in part due to all the Food Network TV we watch} and it is something we enjoy together.

Tonight Daddy had a dinner meeting for work so us girls decided we would have pizza. Daddy isn't a fan of pizza, but Ashton and Landry LOVE it. Ashton is a great pizza maker!

"Our Mail Collector"

One of the things that Landry loves to do these days is go with Daddy to get the mail. She has a routine if you will. After she wakes up from her nap and we change her diaper she waddles into Daddy's office saying "may may may may". She gets Daddy's attention and immediately goes to the front door and waits for him to follow her. She gets so excited to go check the mail before we leave to get Ashton from school. On the weekends...both girls get a thrill out of this little task.

I love this picture because she is so proud of herself that she it shows in her face and that ginormous smile. Again....it is the little things that make my day!

This was the scene standing outside of the dance studio today....

...and now the details...

As mentioned numerous times before, Macy and Ashton take two dance classes on Tuesday afternoons. The first one is 45 minutes and the second one is 30 minutes. Well, that is a looonng time for the little sisters to hang out so when the weather is nice, we go for a walk. In fact, Carly starts asking when we can for a walk during the first class.

Just like usual, we headed out for our walk around the block {our route makes a circle}. As we were leaving we saw smoke, but just assumed it was from a car that was driving away... so we continued on. In maybe 5-7 minutes as we were finishing our circle, we walk up and see tons of smoke and a fire truck....then we spot a car....on fire! Yes...you read that correctly.....A CAR WAS ON FIRE. A few people (not firefighters but employees from the area) were telling us that we may want to stay back. No way Jose....our girls were in the dance studio and we didn't want to be outside where they weren't. Trying to stay calm {so we didn't scare Carly~she was already unsure of the whole thing as it was} we turned and went back the way we came.

By the time we got back around to the studio, the firefighters were finished putting the fire out and all was good. So what do we do....yepper...snap a picture for our 365!

WOW....that isn't something you see everyday. Other than a guy's car catching on fire under the hood....everything turned out just fine. When dance was over, the big girls came out just as the fire truck was leaving so they were naturally curious. They had no idea there had been a car fire right outside the studio.

This makes two fire instances for Ashton in the last 4 days...her school was evacuated on Friday for smoke in which fire fighters and police were called. I think we have had our fill of this for a while!

This is what lunch with Landry looked like today!

Actually, this is what any meal looks like with her and she really isn't even a messy eater. But when you eat a cheese quesadilla cut up into bite size pieces...this just kind of happens and you really can't help it. She sure did enjoy every single bite of her lunch today!

I just love those chubby little hands!

This is what two little girls look like at the end of a day that included LOTS of playing!

Ashton had been at school all day and then we went to Free Play at My Gym right after we picked her up. After we got home, we did homework and the girls played some more while I made supper. Sooooo....after lots of playing and running and squealing Ashton had a ton of tangles in her hair and Landry ended up with no shirt. NICE!

Gotta love two little girls playing and having so much fun. In fact, Ashton was playing her own skee-ball type game with tennis balls and the baby gate that keeps Lan-Lan P out of her room! And as usual...Landry was trying to give her sissy a ton of hugs which interfered with the game.
I love these two girls more than words can say!

Texas Bluebonnets=Spring!

In case you don't live in the great state of TEXAS, the Bluebonnet is our state flower. One of the things I love about living in Texas is the beautiful fields of bluebonnets in the spring! Today we took the girls (along with the Leonards) to have their pictures taken in the bluebonnets.

There will be a post coming on our original blog with TONS {and I mean tons} of pictures....we took 443 with our camera {gotta love when you can hold down the button and it just takes and takes~Bobby calls it "rapid fire"} and that doesn't even count the ones the Leonards took with theirs. So it may take me a while to go through them and find our faves.

Mommy's girls!

After we finished supper tonight, Ashton sat on my lap in this chair and read her Guided Reading book to me. As soon as she was done, she went and got her blankie so she could snuggle me. Well...about 2.5 seconds later, "Pea" had her blankie and was up in my lap too.

Oh how I absolutely LOVE these two girls and I especially love snugglin' with them!!!!

Another Trip to the Store...

...to make trip number THREE! All of this to find shoes for one wee little lan-lan p! If the girl could wear a half size bigger things would be all good in the shoe dept.

Anyway I went to the Outlet mall {which isn't exactly close} on Thursday to find some shoes for Landry....when I got there, I discovered Stride Rite was having a "Buy One, Get One Half Off" sale. Well, in order to by Ashton shoes, I need her foot {and opinion} to be there. We went back yesterday, grabbed Landry's shoes and found some for Ashton. Perfect!

Weeelllll, this morning I get Landry's shoes out of the box to put on, and what do you know...they are a 6 1/2 when we needed a 4 1/2. The box said they were a 4 1/2~I didn't try them on her again because I had already done that and had her walk in them on Thursday. Bummer! So that meant driving out there today after we got Ashton from school to get the correct size.

Finally, this girl has some shoes.

Snuggles with Uncle Jeff....

This morning, Ashton and Landry played in the playroom quite happily. Ashton was so proud of herself since she had dressed Landry in one of her dress up dresses and Landry just loved it. After Landry wandered around showing everyone her pretty dress, she hopped up in Uncle Jeff's lap for some snuggles while she showed him her dress.

Opening Day for Spring Softball

Today was game #1 for the "Divas"...and they did fabulous! Daddy (and two other Daddies) coached the girls to a very organized, well prepared team of eleven little girls ages 5 and 6. I couldn't have been more proud of my big girl and my hubby!

We even had a super special visitor...Uncle Jeff! He is spending a couple of weeks in Wichita Falls for work and came down for the weekend to visit. Ashton was so tickled that he was able to watch her play!

Right about now...this entrance to my kitchen is making me want to pull my hair out and look like my hubby. Do ya want to know why?

Well...it has to do with a super cute and SPUNKY little almost 15 month old toddler by the name of Landry Paige! You see, we have a gate that the Leonards let us borrow that we have been using to keep a certain blue eyed girl out of the kitchen. It worked pretty well until, oh about a week ago when she figured out she could just knock it over and walk on top of it and get into the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen, she is into every single cabinet and drawer we have and pushing the heavy wood chairs on the tile floor knocking them over and just causing havoc in there. Not to mention giving her mommy a heart attack in fear that she might knock a chair over on top of her. We have waaayyy too many cabinets and drawers to put child locks on to keep her out of...which is what me have to resort to. And the chairs...there is no safetly lock for those bad boys!

The entryway to our kitchen is ANGLED...who does that? Since it is angled, there is no gate that A) fits across there and B) will attach so a small child can't knock or pull it over. I ventured to Babies R Us today and looked at every gate and safety lock they had to find a "fix" for our problem. I ended up getting a gate that I thought would work. WRONG! Bobby and I had a heck of a time getting it up and then Landry began climbing on it and knocked it over. Not to mention, Ashton can't get over it so I was having to lift her over the gate....SO NOT FUN (but great for my muscles).

A New Month....A New Picture on the Best Calendar Ever!

Every year since Ashton was a baby, I have made a calendar using pictures from the previous year. It is really neat to see how much they have changed in a year. The grandparents, great-grandparents, and great aunts LOVE them! This is the only "must have" present every year for Christmas. I think we might be disowned if we ever stopped doing them {not that I would EVER dream of it...I love making it as much as everyone loves getting them}. This is the first year that Landry has been a part of the calendar.

I have it hanging on our fridge and it is the center of our household. If things are not on the calendar, I forget {I have had two kiddos which means I have lost lots of my memory} so I would not function without it. Not only that...but it makes me smile every.single.time I walk by or open the fridge/freezer to see our precious little girls. It makes sense since those girls are the center of my world and I wouldn't be able to function without them!
